Te Puna School is the host School for three Resource Teachers of Learning and Behaviour (RTLB) that operate in a cluster of schools throughout our area. Te Puna School, Omokoroa No1, Omokoroa Point, Whakamaramara, Pahoia, Seventh Day Adventist, Katikati Primary and Katikati College.
Resource Teachers of Learning and Behaviour (RTLB) positions were introduced in 1999 as part of the Special Education Policy initiatives of that time. The intent of Special Education Policy is that all students who require specialist services and teacher support receive them. Support and resources are prioritised to those students with the highest needs. RTLB have a pivotal role to play in assisting cluster schools to meet the needs of their students with learning or behavioural needs.
